Package Design, Print, Marketing
The overall goal of this passion project was to create sustainable and eco-friendly packaging for a company's product that mainly uses plastic packaging, while keeping true to the brand. Maynards mainly uses plastic in most of their products, therefore, my goal was to clean up the candy industry with paper packaging and polyethylene plastic.
The different ideas I created for the new package design was a box that you had to lift the lid to access the candy. However, when it comes to accessibility for children, the final design I chose was the best option. Having a bigger box allows kids to grab the item with both hands, and giving them a more personalized experience.
The steps that I had to take to get to the final version was to create a low fidelity mockup of the potential box, create the official die line for the physical box, and then it came down to designing and staying true to the brand recognition.
Furthermore, this straight forward die line and design can cater to most of Maynards candy. The endless amounts of candy can all come together as a set with their new package design.
